The Altimeter Processing System (ALPS) has recently been upgraded to ALPS-2 in order to process two-dimensional wide-swath altimetry data to be provided by satellites like SWOT. Innovations include the filtering of novel spatially correlated error sources in the wide-swath data. ALPS-2 can currently read in simulated data created by JPL’s SWOT simulator and apply a filtering convolution with a kernel based on estimated wavenumber spectra associated with each of the four correlated error sources: roll, phase, baseline, and timing. The presentation details the filtering scheme and shows preliminary results.
