Abstract:

This work presents the latest calibration results for the SARAL/AltiKa satellite altimeter, conducted by the Gavdos/Crete permanent facility. Results are reported using sea-surface calibration techniques along the ascending Pass No.57. Calibration starts even at 20 km south of Gavdos and from cycle No.1 (as of 3-April-2013) till today. Three GNSS receivers along with four tide gauges of different type, precise local geoid models, with mean dynamic topography models have been used for this satellite calibration. Sampling rate data for the range and the altitude at 40Hz has been applied. Finally, the wet troposphere and ionosphere delays as measured by the satellite are compared against in situ measurements.
