Abstract:

The hydrological basins in the Madagascar Islands are challenging cases in terms of satellite altimetry because of ther limited size. Yet, the absence of monitoring of the water levels with in-situ equipment make invaluable any attempt to retrieve levels from satellite. We present in this study the preliminary results obtained for the determination of water level series from satellite altimetry and the consistency with other hydro-climatic indicators.
